synclyfe is for sharing the things you love. Keep it kind.
Post your own stuff, or things you have the right to share.
No nudity, hate, harassment, violence, scams or anything illegal.
Respect people's privacy. Don't post other people's personal details or photos without asking.

The spirit of synclyfe

synclyfe is an open journal of the things people love: books, coffee spots, hikes, records, anything. Other people will read what you post, so post the way you’d want them to. These guidelines explain our Terms of Use in everyday language. If the two ever disagree, the Terms win.

Do

Share honest opinions, even negative ones, about places, things and work.
Use your own photos, or ones you have permission to use.
Be kind in how you talk about people, even when you disagree.
Mark a category private if it’s just for you.

Don’t

Hurt people

No harassment, bullying, threats, or encouraging anyone to do any of these.
No hate: nothing that attacks people for their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability or nationality.
No violent or gory content, and nothing that promotes self-harm or terrorism.

Sexual content

No nudity or sexual content of any kind.
Nothing sexualising minors, ever. We remove it, remove the account and report it to the authorities.

Privacy

Don’t post anyone’s private information: phone numbers, home addresses, ID documents, private messages.
Don’t post photos of people who clearly haven’t agreed to it.
Don’t pretend to be someone else.

Honesty and safety

No spam, fake accounts, scams, or misleading links.
No content promoting gambling, illegal drugs, weapons sales or money laundering.
Nothing illegal in India.

Other people’s work

Don’t post photos, text or art you don’t have the rights to. Reviewing a book is fine; uploading its pages is not.

What happens if someone breaks these

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, warn the person, or suspend or remove their account. Serious or illegal content is removed straight away and, where the law requires, reported to the authorities.

Reporting

Tap the ⋯ button on any sync, category or profile and choose Report. The person isn’t told who reported them. You can also choose Block, so neither of you sees the other’s syncs. Prefer email? Send asyncasad@gmail.com a link and tell us what’s wrong.

You’ll get a reference number as soon as you report. Intimate images shared without consent are removed within 24 hours of a report from the person shown. Anything else that breaks these guidelines is dealt with within 72 hours, and other complaints within 15 days.
